Abstract
Anorectal manometry was performed with a multilumen continuously perfused catheter in 15 normal persons, 65 patients with hemorrhoids, 35 patients with and fistulas and 21 patients with anal fissures. Anal resting pressure and maximum anal
resting
pressure were found to be significantly higher in hemorrhoids(46¡¾17.9 mmHg/91.9¡¾22.7 mmHg), fistulas(53.6¡¾17.4 mmHg/10.9¡¾29.8 mmHg) and fissures(49.6¡¾19.9 mmHg/97.8¡¾19.9 mmHg) than in the control group (35.1¡¾17.6 mmHg/80.2¡¾24.3 mmHg).
These
were
statistically significant(p<0.05).
